A Night Out In The City || Finn & Quinn

newyorkerq:

Quinn crossed her legs under the table, glancing around the bar. It was filled with so many memories from the girls nights out with Santana, Rachel and Brittany and then the entire group of them huddled around one booth with chairs pulled up as well. It was the place that they went, it was theirs. That had changed slightly when she fell pregnant with Beth but no matter what, it was still their place. It was their version of Cheers. Then again, there were a lot of memories of the entire group in places all over the city. Her and Puck’s apartment was definitely one of them, it was the place where she found out that there was really more to Finn than just the title of Rachel’s boyfriend. He had been there throughout the cravings and the emotions and her pregnant brain. That had been basically the last moments of just them until tonight. It was definitely different from those nights in the apartment. For one, she wasn’t carrying another human being inside of her. That changed everything. Her eyes found Finn again as he made his way back over to their booth. This was the night for her to just let go and have fun. Whatever happened between the two of them, Quinn was just going to shut off her brain. Her brain usually gave her good advice, not that she ever followed it. Anyway, she wasn’t sure what kind of advice she would give herself if anything happened between them during the night. Quinn knew that she had zoned out because Finn’s lips were moving and she had absolutely know idea what he had started talking about before she snapped out of it. A small blush appeared on her cheeks from his compliments and she smiled as she looked down at beer. “Thank you, Finn,” Quinn said softly. “You’re not too bad yourself. Handsome and sexy would my choice for you tonight.” She wasn’t always so forward like that but it did seem like the place and it wasn’t lies. Quinn took her beer in her hands and clanked it against his. “To a night of us,” she repeated, taking a drink, before answering the question he had asked beforehand. “Beth’s good… She’s perfect. I mean, I had never expected to have her but when I did, I couldn’t remember a time when she wasn’t all I had expected in life. She misses everyone though, she loves you all. You’re all like her second family.” Quinn let out a small breath before she took another drink of her beer. Her finger traced the beer as she looked up at him. “How about you? How’s everything?”

"Besides the job and all.. It’s not that bad." Finn said smiling back at the blonde. He couldn’t help but give her a small mile and look down while continuing to speak. "You know… I really do want to work and all. I only do because I kinda miss doing something, you know?.. That and that music is one of the few things that I know that I know how to do.. Well besides working on cars and all, but I kinda want to keep that a hobby you know? Since I kinda did that in the army and all.. I didn’t see any combat or anything but working on cars became more like a chore since then." He said taking up his beer up  to his lips and drinking some of it. Finn’s eyes went to hers and he couldn’t help but smile once more. " I think I told you this when you were pregnant, and I’m going to have to tell you again.. I think you have the most.. Beautiful eyes, Quinn." He said with a smile. Finn knew that he wasn’t anywhere near buzzing or drunk, but he couldn’t help but compliment her. I mean it too.. You are beautiful, and you know.. I’m kinda glad I have the right to say that you and I slept on the same bed and did nothing together." He chuckled to himself, "Because honestly.. I think half the world would do anything to be with you, and you know.. I’m one of the few that get’s to say that I know her and all." Once again he chuckled before looking up at one of the waitresses and ordering another round for the both of them; "I’m talking to you like if you’re some sort of celebrity.. Which you kinda are to me." He said looking into her eyes, and feeling something more than just lust for her. He always knew that he had small feelings for her, but that was when he was taken by Rachel. Since he’s single now he couldn’t help but feel a bit more attracted to her. More than ever before. "You’re beautiful, and you’re smart.. Oh, and you’re totally nice and sweet and all, so that’s a major plus." He said with a small smile. "But you know.. Anybody who gets you.. Would be the luckiest person in the world." He said putting his hand on top of hers and giving her a smile. "I mean it too.." He said with a smile and slowly moving his thumb over her hand. It was this moment he could feel himself wanting more than just a friendship, but he knew that he would have to get everything right tonight if anything were to happen. "But anyways…" He said pulling away and still having his hand on top of hers. "How’s life with you?.. I know you’re super busy and all." He said with a smile, pulling his beer to his lips and finishing the rest of his previous beer.

A Night Out In The City || Finn & Quinn

newyorkerq:

Quinn looked up at him as he agreed with the plans for the night. MacLaren’s was nothing special, well not compared to Central Park at night. It was adding that to something like going to MacLaren’s for a couple of drinks that made the whole night seem so much better. She also thought going to both places with Finn made it better as well. He was a nice, sweet guy who she felt comfortable around despite there not being many moments the two had with just the two of them and he wasn’t bad looking either. Quinn let out a small laugh at the mention of the seeing the sky. One of the downsides of growing up in New York was that she never really got the perfect look up at the sky in the grass. Well, not without being caught. “I think that’s the reason I love the apartment complex so much. It’s got a great view and who doesn’t love a great view?” Quinn asked with a smile as they walked. As they continued to walk, she wondered just how long it would take for Summer to come around again. She loved winter, she really did but it was definitely nicer to walk through the streets at night in summer. Quinn started to speak against him putting his own jacket on her because she knew that he was going to feel the cold air hit him and that wouldn’t be great but she stopped herself. For as long as she had known him, he had never seemed like one to take back a gesture like giving a girl his jacket on a chilly night. Instead she smiled up at him and said “Thank you, Finn.” Her smile stayed on her lips as he spoke about his job. There was nothing she wanted more in this world than to have her friends doing something that they loved and not stuck in a boring job they hated. “That’s all you can really do,” Quinn said softly before looking back at the path in front of her. “That’s not to say that you won’t get the job because let’s face it, I don’t think they can get anyone better for it than you. But even so, it’s always good to keep your hopes up.” Her eyes stayed ahead of her, keeping her mind on nothing but the sidewalk. It was easier to do that than to think about something that she shouldn’t. She blamed the fact that her last boyfriend had been at least six months ago that her mind went to that place. Quinn turned her head to look at Finn, thinking of something to say to him, when she caught his eyes on her. It was one of those times when the power of telepathy would come in handy. She knew that choosing a black dress like this was bold and she did wonder if she looked as good as she thought she had. Not letting her insecurities get the better of her (well, not too much anyway), Quinn shook it off and let out a breath as she glanced back as she pushed the door to MacLaren’s open. As the two of them walked over to the booth that they all usually sat at, Quinn glanced around at the bar. It wasn’t too busy so she knew they wouldn’t be waiting for anything too long. Quinn listened to his question as she slid into the booth, letting out a little laugh before looking up at him. “I’ll just take a beer. Thank you, Finn,” she replied as she shrugged off his jacket and laid it down next to her so he could put it back on later. Watching him, Quinn couldn’t help her mind as it went to the same place it had been during the night. She had no idea what would happen between the two but she did find herself hoping that something would, whether it be a simple kiss or something else. Quinn knew that it was probably all in her head but there was something between them, wasn’t there?

Finn smiled at the blonde who was sitting in the booth. “I’ll be right back with your beer.” He said and started to walk off to the bartender. Finn still couldn’t believe that he was out in the city with Quinn. He was almost in shock that he was. Quinn was the most beautiful girl in the world to him. Even if she was wearing no makeup or anything.. She still was. He couldn’t help but laugh at the memories that he had when he spent time with her over at her apartment when he was taking care of her. The times where he would run and out get some food because she craving it,and the times that she wanted to watch a movie with someone. As he continued to remember everything he couldn’t help but think that they were almost like a couple when that happened. He wasn’t the father or anything, but he was taking care of her like one.. Or like a father figure.. Or something. Finn turned back over to the blonde sitting in the booth and looked at her from the legs up. She was really, really attractive by nature, and now that she had that dress. She was almost going to be irresistible. Add some alcohol and eventually he would want to get close to her, and maybe that was his intention for the night.. The both of them were going to Central Park in the dead of night.. Something was bound to happen. Sure, going there was almost going to be like if they were kids or something, but those nights were always the best ones, right? The nights that the both of them felt like they had no worries in the world, and they did things their age.. But also incorporated some innocent things. Of course, Finn couldn’t help it if anything would happen between them during the night. Finn got the two beers, walked back over to the booth and placed their beers on it as he slid inside the booth. “You know.. You really do look beautiful tonight.” Finn said with a smile.” Seriously. If there was a word to describe the way you look right now, it would be sexy and beautiful.. And it has to be two because honestly, one isn’t enough.” He said with a smile as he sat down across from her. “Well.. Hows everything with Beth? I haven’t seen her in a while.. Not since that one night when you asked me to take care of her and all.” He said putting his beer in hand and remembering something. “Oh! Here’s to a night of us.. And only us!” He said with a smile, clanking his beer with hers and taking a quick swig.

A Night Out In The City || Finn & Quinn

newyorkerq:

Quinn’s eyes met the ground as she waited for Finn. She started thinking of what tonight would do to their friendship before her mind began to think even further than friendship. She rid herself of the thought though because to be honest, Quinn didn’t think the two would ever get to that stage. They were both friends but the idea of the two of them being more than that, it was definitely a nice idea but she wasn’t sure if it would ever be more than just an idea. After all, he was Rachel’s ex and there was such a thing as “Girlfriend Code”. As she looked back up, Quinn thought about just disregarding the code all together because she had forgotten how handsome Finn actually was in person. All of her friends were ridiculously attractive but Finn was something else. She blamed her lack of sex for that thought. A smile appeared on her face as she looked at him and listened to him. “Thank you, Finn,” she replied, her smile growing a little more. It was always nice to receive compliments, especially when she wasn’t sure about her own looks some days. She did know that she was attractive but some days her insecurity did get to her more than usual. Running a hand through her hair, Quinn’s eyes looked up and down him, her smile remaining on her face. “You’re not too bad yourself. You really do clean up well… I mean, you always look good but…. I’m sure you understand what I mean,” Quinn said with a smile. Sometimes what she wanted to say and what actually came out of her mouth were two different things. It was a bad habit but it couldn’t be helped, well not unless she really thought about it first. “So, MacLaren’s first, right?” she asked as she began walking in the direction of the bar that they all often went to. It was their own personal Cheers. She was almost certain that she would be able to find her way there from her and Puck’s apartment  with her eyes closed, though she wasn’t sure if she would actually try that. Maybe if she was really bored. Quinn’s hands moved into her jacket pocket’s, feeling kind of cold, as they walked. “So, any word on the job you wanted?” she asked as she looked up at him. He really was a tall man, she had always thought that he seemed that tall because of Rachel’s height but she knew that was wrong now. She knew she seemed to be staring at him, an almost intense gaze as her eyes looked all over him, so Quinn moved her gaze to look at the street in front of them. It was probably better that way anyway because she really didn’t want to trip, knowing that would be embarrassing. She hated being embarrassed in public, it was always awkward for her to try to get rid of the blush that would appear on her cheeks after it.

Finn couldn’t help but flash a small smirk to the blonde before opening the door for her and walking out into the busy streets of New York City. “Thanks.” He added as they started to walk into the cold breeze. The night was young for the both of them, and they both only had time to kill. “Yeah, we’re going to MacLaren’s first.. Then to central park, but we have to be super careful when we go.” He said looking at her body one more time before looking back at the street. “It’s going to be locked up, but it’s the only place in the city where you can get a good glimpse of the sky.. Well that and the top of a your apartment complex or something.” He said. His eyes caught glimpse of her putting her hands in her pockets before, and he knew that the night was only going to get a bit colder. “Hey.. You’re cold. Take my jacket.” He said, pulling off the jacket from his back and putting it on her shoulders. The cool air hit his skin, and he could feel the breeze more clearly now. It was obviously a bit cool, maybe too cool to take her out to central park, but he knew that he would warm up after a few drinks. His mind remembered that she asked about the job, and he began to explain what was going on. “It’s going good for now. I haven’t gotten any word about it though, but I’m keeping my hopes up.” He said with a smile, turning over to the blonde and flashing a smile. He could remember one time that he looked at her and she almost tripped over some concrete on the sidewalk. She turned bright red that day, and she looked cute to be honest, but that was him. He could also remember her being a bit shy about it and played it off as if nothing happened that day. Of course, he wouldn’t forget such a thing. Finn glanced over at Quinn one more time, and his eyes roamed her body. There was something about tonight that made her a bit more.. Attractive than before. The gears inside his brain started to crank as he wondered what it possibly could be. The dress was one of the main reasons, but the perfume was one that he would never forget. She smelled sweet like a rose, and almost looked like one too. The way she would walk was almost as if the pedals from a rose began to dance in the wind. Looking so elegantly and making it look so effortlessly. He honestly didn’t know what was going through his mind when he thought of all this. Besides the fact that his sexual desires were probably going through the roof, he didn’t know what else if could be. Something was in the air tonight though, and he knew something would happen at the end. The question would be what exactly. Would the both of them kiss? Or would it lead up to them eventually having the time of their life because he needed to satisfy his sexual desires? His mind snapped out of the groove when the both of them walked into MacLaren’s. The night wasn’t too busy for the bar, and Finn went and lead the way to the booth that Santana, Britanny, and everyone else used to sit at before Quinn had a baby. “Would you like something to drink?” He asked letting her go and sit while he stood up. “Name it and I’ll buy it.. Just don’t make it too expensive.” He chuckled before gazing into her hazel orbs.

A Night Out In The City || Finn & Quinn

newyorkerq:

It had been a while since Quinn had been out to MacLaren’s. Not that she didn’t love spending time with her daughter and Puck but it wasn’t the same as having just one night out at the bar with her friends. She needed a night like that and the opportunity to hang out with Finn was just like icing on the cake. The two hadn’t spent that much time together alone but when they had, it had been quite fun. It wasn’t as if she was going to say no to getting to know him better either. They may have run in the same circle of friends and he may have dated one of her best friends but she hadn’t realized until now how little she knew about him. They should have hung out together more often but things always had a habit of getting in the way. Well, that was definitely going to change tonight or at least she hoped so.

Realizing she had just been sitting there and staring at her phone, Quinn shook her head and stood up. She had no idea what to do or what to wear but she knew that going out in her pyjamas wasn’t the right idea. Stripping out of her pyjamas, she chose the cliché but always good, little black dress. It was the perfect dress for MacLaren’s and for Central Park as well. She also knew that she looked good in it as well. Quinn checked herself in the mirror, fluffing up her hair a bit because while it was just a friendly thing between her and Finn, she still wanted to look her best. After reapplying the make-up that she hadn’t yet taken off from the day, Quinn shut down her laptop and slid her important items into her handbag. She made sure to kiss Beth goodbye, even though her daughter had fallen asleep hours ago, because she was going to be away from her and that was still hard on Quinn. She pulled her jacket on and made her way downstairs from their apartment to wait outside for Finn. There was something good about this season, it was actually kind of perfect for her. Spring in New York was beautiful to her, not as beautiful as Fall, but still beautiful.

Finn closed hi laptop and laid back for a moment, soaking in the fact that he was going to go out with the one and only Quinn Fabray. He knew that her and him were friends of some sort, but spaced out. Finn could remember the times that she when she was pregnant, and stayed over to take care of her. The memories were still inside his head, even though it was years after everything had happened. There was times where he had to make her bacon for dinner, and times where he would watch a movie with her and watch her fall asleep. Quinn was a becoming a mom at that point in time, but even then she was cute, and beautiful. Over the course of it all, and when he walked in as she held her baby in her arms, he couldn’t help but smile. He always knew that she was beautiful, but something about that moment wanted him to get to know her more. To get to know her better than anyone else, and be closer friends. Sure, he stayed over a few times to make sure that she didn’t need anything during the night, and left in the morning unnoticed, but it was just a friendship and the fact that he cared for a mom to be. Finn’s head glanced over at the clock hanging on the wall, got up, and went over to his closet. Putting on a button down shirt, a blazer, some jeans and some nice shoes. After putting everything on and spraying on his favorite cologne. He walked out of his apartment and started making his way to the building that Quinn resided.

Finn walked to the building in a few minutes time. Only being delayed by some halt signs as he finally got to the building. His heart started to pound up against it’s cage when he got closer and closer, but why? There was no reason for it to do such a thing. Sure, it’s been a while since his last encounter with a woman, and even more rare was a sexual encounter, but he knew Quinn wouldn’t do such a thing. Even if, he didn’t want to do it because of the fact that she already had done that once, and nine months later gave birth. It wasn’t on the top of her list, and he would rather do it with someone he had a connection to than anyone else. Sex, was sex, but there was times where it just wasn’t sex. Making love was the thing that he was more into. Rachel and him didn’t do that often when they were together, and even if Rachel was usually tired and didn’t really need the attention. Finn walked down the block and he noticed a familiar shade of blonde standing outside in a little black dress. The thoughts inside his mind went crazy after he noticed her legs and what he would do with her if they had this night alone. Of course he couldn’t let his thoughts get that far. “Quinn..” He said walking over to her with a smile. “You look.. Beautiful tonight.” He said flashing a soft smile and standing in place. ” I mean.. Really.. I know black dresses are common, but.. You kinda give it a new meaning.”
